New Delhi:
All stock exchanges and clearing corporations remained unaffected due to a global outage of Microsoft systems, bourses said in a joint statement on Saturday. Earlier, Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu said airline systems across airports, which were impacted due to a global IT outage on Friday, have started working normally, and all issues were likely to be resolved by noon today,
The ministry is constantly monitoring the operations at airports and airlines to ensure travel readjustments and refunds are taken care of, he added. Airlines, banks, TV channels and financial institutions were thrown into turmoil on Friday by one of the biggest IT crashes in recent years, caused by an update to an antivirus program.
Microsoft said the issue began on Thursday, affecting Windows users running cybersecurity software CrowdStrike Falcon. CrowdStrike said it had rolled out a fix for the problem and the firm’s boss, George Kurtz, told US news channel CNBC he wanted to “personally apologise to every organisation, every group and every person who has been impacted”.
