Nvidia stock was rising on Thursday as investors shrugged off the Federal Reserve’s gloomy outlook for 2025. Nvidia emerged relatively unscathed from Wednesday’s Fed scare, sliding 1.1% on a day when all three blue-chip U.S. indexes—the S&P 500, and —plummeted by more than double that. The selloff came after the Fed cut interest rates by a quarter of a point, but Chair Jerome Powell signaled to the market that the central bank may only lower borrowing costs twice in 2025 because inflation is still running above its 2% target.
